Case study
Chano Boxing — San Diego, CA
A boxing gym in San Diego, CA was losing prospects to voicemail every time coaches were on the mat. Here's what happened after Jessica started answering their phone.
The situation
Coaches on the mat, calls going unanswered
Like most combat gyms, Chano Boxing's busiest hours on the mat are the exact same hours prospects call in — right after work, in the evening, and on weekends. With coaches teaching and the front desk covering the floor, calls were going to voicemail, and most callers never called back.
The fix
Jessica took over the phone
Chano Boxing set Jessica up on their existing gym number, and she now answers every call the gym gets. About half are handled start-to-finish — she confirms that trial classes are free and tells callers to come in 15 minutes early to any class — and the rest transfer straight to the team when a caller needs a real person. Either way, the call gets answered and the lead gets captured, even when the front desk is slammed or the gym is closed.
"We haven't missed a call since we put Jessica on the phones. I used to be mid-class wondering if I was losing a new member to voicemail — now I don't even think about it."
